Sci Fi Wire reports on several more science fiction and fantasy pilots being picked up by the networks so far this pilot season.
• Life on Mars, a remake of a BBC show for ABC from David E. Kelly (Ally McBeal, The Practice, etc.), about a detective who goes back in time to the 1970s.
• The Bionic Woman, a remake of the 1970s show starring Lindsay Wagner on NBC. This is from Battlestar Galactica’s David Eick. It will “focus on a woman’s place in today’s world.”
Is the 1970s going to be a theme next season?
• New Amsterdam, on Fox, from Oscar-nominated director Lasse Hallstrom; it “centers on a cop who is hundreds of years old.”
• Fox also has the Sarah Connor Chronicles, yes, that Sarah Connor, based on the Terminator character and what happens to her and her son after Terminator 2. And Them, also from BSG’s Eick, about extraterrestrial terrorists who infiltrate Earth.
• NBC’s got Journeyman, “an hourlong romantic fantasy” about a guy who goes back in time to help people in trouble.
• And, finally, The CW has Reaper, about “a 21-year-old slacker” who hunts down souls that have escaped from hell.
