Just when I was about to go to bed.....

It sounds like Dr. Venkman is in dire need of the Aunt Jemima treatment. It's unfortunate that our ruminations have interrupted your homophobic little life, Pete. Good thing that our soldiers have fought to give you and me the freedom to read - and post - on any blog we wish. What a country, huh?

Venkman, if you can't find a Rush Limbaugh blog, maybe you should log off the computer and pop Saving Private Ryan into your DVD player. You'll feel much better.

My only other suggestion, of course, is this: Lighten up Francis or I'll tell Bill Murray you've sullied his good name.

While I'm here, I'll continue the BSG: Lost in Science Fiction ruminations. BSG lands on Earth only to find that its run by apes. The series ends with Adama using Heston's immortal words: "Take your filthy paws off me you damn dirty ape!"

Alfred E. Neuman, are you reading this?

Well, its no Rome, but its BSG is deep enough.

As for Adama vs. Kirk, I can't bet against James T. He has kicked too many alien butts to be doubted. And there's all that police experience as TJ Hooker. But then, Adama previously starred as a prison tough guy in American Me. That must have toughened him up, it was an ugly role. I like the matchup. Win or lose, Kirk gets the girl.

Let's have BSG roll out the boxing ring again (I enjoyed that episode). We can pit Tyrol vs. Scotty, Spock vs. Tigh, Gaita vs. Sulu, Uhura vs. Dualla, and Six vs. anyone Kirk bedded. Let's get ready to rumble.

This could go on forever. Or at least until I get a life.

Hello, Eye...

I thought your insight on the Dylan song and the horsemen is quite interesting. A bit deep, but BSG gets rather deep, I think.

I love the idea of Adama vs Kirk. Adama would SO come out on top.

Well, that may have been too deeply religious. Let me lighten the mood by reminding everyone that anything is possible. For instance, BSG could encounter the USS Enterprise orbiting Earth during a search for Spock. Tempers (and egos) would surely flare between Adama and Kirk, people would be beamed all over the place, Tribbles would be underfoot. It could get messy.

Or, they could enter a time/space continuum and bump into the Kanamits en route to Earth. Could you see Baltar frantically screaming, "It's a cookbook!" ? Nobody would believe him.

The possibilities are endless. It could certainly provide fodder for a series to get us through the year - BSG: Lost in Science Fiction. I'll take all credit until they meet Mork and Mindy.

Enough already. Now back to your regularly scheduled blog.

The Dylan song, it has been said, tells of impending confrontation or apocalypse. Perhaps BSG's humans are bringing apocalypse to Earth via our newfound four horsemen. I guess that would make Kara the second coming. That works for me.

That makes sense regarding the timeline of episodes. I'd heard, too, that it might be the last season. In some ways, that would be good, going out while still on top. But in other ways that'd be awful, because it's one of the best things on television.

That's an excellent thought about the Dylan song being some sort of connection to Earth. I hadn't really thought it through that much, but it now seems exceedingly obvious. ;-)

I don't think Kara's in Lee's head. I think she's really there. Remember, she has a destiny.

I think the way it's working out--according to an interview with Salon.com--is there will be a two-hour movie in the fall about the Pegasus...plus, 22 episodes beginning in January. It will probably be the show's final season, though it hasn't been determined yet, according to the creator in Salon.

I'm with you on the four of them not being cylons. The whole Bob Dylan shoutout really threw me. It means they obviously have some connection to Earth...As for Kara, could she be a figment of Lee's imagination (ala Baltar and Six).

I wish they gave us a little more, considering we'll have to wait 10 months now. What was the reason for the song? And why did those three characters share that dream?
