Tonight: “Grey’s” Deja Vu

Last Thursday the good folk at ABC did a last-minute switcheroo by airing the episode titled “My Favorite Mistake, instead of what TV Guide said was to air, the rerun “From a Whisper to a Scream (original airdate Nov. 23, 2006). Now, the rerun airs tonight. Thus, the reason for no Grey’s posting last week. So, since “My Favorite Mistake is now old news (I myself saw it just today, on ABC.com), I will just share a few general thoughts.
If Burke thinks that his and Cristina’s marriage will succeed, he is, sadly, nuts. He’s a nice, sensitive guy; she’s got severe intimacy issues. The first indication: Cristina never calls him by his first nameâ€â€definitely a sign of her attempting to emotionally distance herself from him. Then, she wants a tiny wedding ceremony – just herself, Preston, Meredith, McDreamy and a person not of the cloth. And of course there’s her terse bedside manner. Last week when she told the diabetic man (Michael Boatman of Spin City) that his infected foot had to come off, she might as well have had a chainsaw in her hand at the same time. Oh, well, we viewers will sit on the sidelines and see how the whole thing plays out. My guess? The duo may not even make it to the, so to speak, alter.
And one more thing: With the somewhat corny appearance of Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the other guy, played by the pathetically wooden Kyle Chandler, in Meredith’s after-life scenes, it’s pretty certain that we’ll never see him again. Bummer! Denny was a dreamboat and so is Morgan. Out of all the male actors I’ve ever interviewed in-person and over the phone, he’s one of only two about whom I’ve afterwards said to myself, “I’d kill for a date with that guy! (The interview was way back in the 1990s, when he starred on a somewhat-lame one-hour drama called The Burning Zone.) His character is also dead on the WB’s Supernatural, but we’re soon sure to see much more of Morgan on the little and big screens. Rest in peace, Denny. And, Jeff? Call me!

“pathetically wooden Kyle Chandler”...Are you kidding? If you have not watched Friday Night Lights, you have not seen Kyle Chandler at his best.
His hair alone could win an Emmy. The chemistry he has with Connie Britton is amazing.
They are TV’s cutest couple. I LOVE KC – every Weds. night – it is the best hour of television. Ever.
