Idol site: Melinda is safe, but anyone else could go home

According to the somewhat reliable DialIdol.com, Melinda Doolittle is safe after this week’s voting. (I know, total shock.)
But perhaps because the remainder of the talent pool this season could best be described as mediocre, the Web site is as vague as any casual “Idol” fan’s opinion in stating that everyone else ranks somewhere between second and ninth in the voting. The site predicts good news for fans of bad singers Phil “Really?” Stacey (second), Sanjaya “Insert suddenly tired joke here” Malakar (third) and Chris “The new Sanjaya” Richardson (fourth).
The predicted bottom three? Gina “I had one excellent song and a bunch of bad ones” Glocksen (seventh), LaKisha “My fan club’s not getting any bigger” Jones (eighth) and Haley “I’m pretty! Look at me!” Scarnato (ninth).
When two of the first three finalists to go are male, that doesn’t bode well for the remaining women in terms of splitting up support from remaining voters. And that’s assuming those voters CONTINUE to vote, which might not happen. For example, it’s feasible that a huge Stephanie Edwards fan—especially in/near her hometown—stopped voting altogether when she was kicked off.
