When they said Roger was going to go off the deep end …

… they weren’t kidding.
Last night’s episode of Jericho was a compelling hour of television.
Previews had us convinced the refugees were going to terrorize Jericho, primarily Gail Green, who’s probably the nicest woman on television this side of June Cleaver, but more realistic.
I was glad to see that wasn’t the case, though I thought things were tied up a bit too nicely so quickly. But it’s television, so I can forgive.
Roger totally went off the deep end, and it wasn’t sad to see him go. Since he returned to Jericho, he’s completely had the feeling of a “guest star” or maybe a “special guest star” rather than a series regular. I’m not particularly fond of the idea of Jake and Emily getting back together, though. I like Heather more.
Speaking of Heather, in a couple of weeks Jake and Hawkins (that’s a pairing we’ve waited too long to see again!) head out to New Bern to find Eric and find out some sort of conspiracy. Looking forward to that; but hoping that next week’s hyped explainer of who was behind the attacks isn’t a red herring and actually tells us something finally. Don’t pull a Lost on us, folks!

Back to last night  I have to admit, I was convinced Gray was going to go the way of April. (That was a nice touch with Gail realizing she could give away April’s belongings to the ‘fugees. An adios of sorts to a character who’ll be missed.) I’m no fan of the man, but with each day it seems he’s realizing more and more what an excellent mayor Major Dad was and how the job isn’t as easy as it seemed. Particularly after a nuclear attack has destroyed your nation.
I like the Marines’ radio giving townsfolk news of the state and nation. It’s a good plot device to let us know what’s going on elsewhere, and that there is indeed an elsewhere where things are happening. Jericho sometimes still seems too idyllic to be a post-apocalyptic community.
Dale and his little sweetie, Skylar, were annoying, though. How’d she turn from a rich princess into Bonnie to his Clyde in such a short time? And what happened to all her little friends from before? Dale is still a little creepy, I think.
The part I had the hardest time with: Hawkins’ ability to track the “real” bad guys via satellite and such. Where is his power source? How can he hijack the satellites without these bad folks finding out? They had so better explain at least some of this next week.
To sum up, the best part about last night’s episode: No Mimi!

Great Episode last night. I have a question.
Remeber the refugee that broke into Gails house when she was packing up Aprils things?
He is he same guy that is one of the terrorists that Hawkins was taking pictures of at the warehouse? Looked just like him when Hawkins was hanging the pictures up and labeling them.
I really dont want to see Jake and Emily together and that Skylar and Dale are really starting to annoy me.
Was happy to see that all refusgees got to stay. It really only made sence to shelter them in the empty homes.
Cant wait till next week!
Hi Charlene! Glad to hear from you this week.
You know, I thought they did look somewhat similar, but I’m pretty sure they’re not the same guy. Am I 100 percent? No  hard to be with this show.
I’m really looking forward to next week, too. I really really really hope they do give us some answers.
Hi again Amy,
You know what I forgot to post??
WOW … at the end of the show when the radio update mentioned the FBI badges. I think that not so stupid deputy that we adore is so on to Hawkins.
That look on his face putting 2 and 2 together was unreal.
I guess we have to wait and see as preview suggested.
