NBC’s fall schedule

May
14

So, I’m not going to list the entire lineup, which you can get from Michael Ausiello on TV Guide.com or from Kristin on E! Online, but here’s a list of the six new shows that NBC announced it would pick up (some of which I’ve previously blogged on), with my commentary when I felt like it. And you can check out the Associated Press story on LoHud.com, too.

• Life: 10 p.m., Wednesdays — Damian Lewis plays an innocent cop who was sent to prison, but returns to the force when he is released.

• Chuck: 9 p.m. Tuesdays — Zachary Levi stars. Kristin describes the show thusly: “a computer geek who accidentally downloads the CIA’s database into his head.” IMDB, however, describes it as such: “An offbeat look at young spies in their twenties.” I figure he downloads the database (accidentally?!?) and the CIA decides to make him a spy. Am I right? Not a clue.

• Journeyman: 10 p.m. Mondays (a plum spot right after “Heroes) — Kevin McKidd (Lucius Vorenus of Rome) can time-travel and uses this ability either to “right his past wrongs” (Kristin) or to “help people in trouble.” (IMDB) Or both! It’s being touted as something of a Quantum Leap-type premise.

• The Bionic Woman: 9 p.m. Wednesdays — Michelle Ryan plays Jaime Sommers in David Eick’s reimagining of the iconic 1970s series (a la “Battlestar Galactica”). Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck of BSG) is in the pilot as the first bionic woman, who is now kind of on the dark side. She’ll have a recurring role.

• Lipstick Jungle: 10 p.m. Sundays, starting in January — Kim Raver, in her continuing efforts to get off “24,” plays one of a trio of powerful businesswomen in New York City. Brooke Shields also stars.

• The IT Crowd: No time listed yet — Joel McHale of The Soup stars in this remake of a British comedy series (hey, it worked out well for “The Office!) about the IT Department of a major corporation. You know, the guys who fix your computers.

Plus, there’s this tidbit, from the NBC press release:

NBC “bulks up” with 30 combined episodes of Heroes and Heroes: Origins, an innovative new spin-off that each week will introduce a new character — one of whom will be chosen by viewers through the Heroes website on NBC.com to become a cast regular the following season.
