Fischer injures back in fall

If you tuned in to Late Night with Conan O’Brien last night to see Jenna Fischer’s appearance, you probably wondered why you were looking at John Stamos instead.
Well, USA Today’s Pop Candy blog reports this afternoon that Fischer, who plays Pam on The Office, fell down some marble stairs while wearing high heels, fracturing her back in four places. (E!’s Kristin Veitch weighs in.)
The mishap occurred sometime Monday. Fischer has been in Manhattan along with the rest of The Office cast for upfronts week, when networks set their fall schedules.
“She is expected to make a full recovery and will not miss any time on The Office,” Fischer’s rep told Pop Candy’s Whitney Matheson. The show wrapped shooting on the current season March 31.
“Her pal and co-star Angela Kinsey ‘has been with her the whole time’ and her husband, filmmaker/actor James Gunn, has flown to be with her,” Matheson writes.
TV blogger GiveMeMyRemote.com reports seeing Fischer leaving NBC’s upfronts party Monday evening and speculates the fall must have occurred soon after.
That Web site and Fischer’s MySpace page are already filling up with well wishes from fans.
The hourlong Office season finale airs tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET.
