1. How would shooting Peter keep him from blowing up if it wouldn’t kill him?

If he got shot through the brain it would kill him, this was explained in earlier episodes - like when he had a shard of glass in his head and didn't regenerate until Claire pulled it out.

That brings up this question…

2. Why was Claire worried about shooting Peter? He’d just regenerate anyway.

Right? Did I miss some important piece of info somewhere?

See above, she could kill him.

3. Why did Nathan need to fly him away? Peter could have just flown himself, right?

He said when Nathan landed, "I can't do anything", the point being going nuclear meant he couldn't use his other powers.

Exactly... I couldn't believe more people didn't pick up on this. I'm sitting there thinking, "just shoot him... just shoot him in the head, he'll regenerate in seconds... why aren't you shooting him in the head? Why are you flying away with him? Just snap his fucking neck!"

No, your dead on... it was a major let down... As a big fan of the show all season i expected a huge fight between Sylar and Peter, and well, it just 'Peter'd out'... It had the potential to be so incredible...

it wouldn't kill him, but golly would it hurt. Clair remembers that part. She has a mean streak.

Was a little anti-climactic, actually, and seemed rushed. Also, I had some logic questions:

1. How would shooting Peter keep him from blowing up if it wouldn't kill him?

That brings up this question...

2. Why was Claire worried about shooting Peter? He'd just regenerate anyway.

Right? Did I miss some important piece of info somewhere?

3. Why did Nathan need to fly him away? Peter could have just flown himself, right?

If anything, you're not being negative enough. I'm a fan of the show, but I definitely felt that the finale was a clumsily plotted anti-climax.

Sylar seems to still be alive after having made his bloody way into a sewer. (Why the heroes standing right there didn’t stop him is beyond us.)

They probably weren't paying much attention to him on account of their own wounds, potential loss of loved ones, and the fact that, oh yeah, he seemed pretty dead. And I doubt the survivors could have helped much even if they did jump into round two.

Nathan and Peter aren’t definitely dead. Nathan could have let go of Peter and flown away to let his little bro explode all by himself.

Maybe he did, we'll just have to wait to find out.

And, if Peter was still indestructible like Clahire, then he might have lived, although even with Claire’s powers of regeneration, it seems quite unlikley that Peter, who’d probably gotten blown to smithereens, was able to—ahem— piece himself back together.

Unless he doesn't actually explode, but generates an explosion. Ted Sprague exploded as well when the FBI apprehended him, and despite his lack of regeneration, he seems to be mostly intact.

My coworker Robert mentioned that Peter had Nathan’s flying ability, so why didn’t he just fly away himself before he exploded?

Going Chernobyl is probably very distracting, making the other powers difficult to control.

Hiro should have just chopped off Sylar’s head without the hello-I’m-here anouncement

But Hiro follows the code of Bushido, and like the samurai that he admires, he's too honourable to do that.

Why did he end up in Japan in 1671 and during a solar eclipse.

Probably the same reason he accidently wound up in the future on two seperate occaisions. But considering he idolizes that samurai who happens to be there, there's probably something more to it than that. We'll just have to wait and see.

I liked it. It wasn't the season's best episode, but with NBC hyping it like that it was destined to fall short. Sylar vs. Peter, Nikki, Matt and Hiro? That was fun as heck. That alone made this ep pretty darn good.

I know I'll be back for the next season, that's for sure.
