Hey,give up on the Sanjaya put downs ! There are millions of us that only watched that finale because we were hoping Sanjaya would be there. Sanjaya was the highlight of the show with Joe Perry. The two were great. It was world history just like Seacrest said. Together they captured the innocence and greatness of the era from which that song,"You really got me",emerged.Without them, the show would have been a drag. Also,Thank goodness, that old druggie Ozzie didn't show up,That would have been the ultimate let down !!!

Leitha, you're mistaking my put down of Prince as somehow saying Green Day is the greatest band on Earth or something. I simply was saying Green Day's song was better than okay... THEN meant to talk about Prince being an over rated mediocre "musician" Prince was his generations Brittany Spears, or N-Sync, or one of those other horrible groups/singers. Green Day is far from the best on Earth, but they're better than Prince (and keep in mind, I don't even like Green Day... I just thought the rendition of Working Class Hero was great) Stop living in your little fantasy world where a low class, low talent bum like Prince is considered "great."

I think that Blake is an all around better performer thank Jordin. Who cares if he cant sing the best...he still has more flavor and spunky attititude--the kind that sells albums.

Agreed: Best part of the show was Blake's duet with Doug E. Fresh. Anyone else willing to take bets that he's this year's Chris Daughtry?

I'm not sure where you're deriving your 'insight', but it was apparent Sanjaya was 'in' on the joke. Even on the red carpet and questions arose about his hair his responses were completely tongue in cheek. It's the subtle humor that scoots past those only receptive to the inserted laugh track.

Dear John,

You must live in an alternate universe. Prince kicks Green Day's A** ANY day. And his half-time show was AWESOME!! Prince is THE GREATEST!!!

Green Day is generic in my opinion. But I don't watch the Food Network either. Maybe that explains it.

The Next Food Network Star is not a new show... It's been on for 3 years I believe. The previous winners have shows on Food Network now. As for Green Day's performance, WAY better than Princes... if you think Prince was even in the top 5 for best Half Time show performances, than you've clearly lost it. He is without a doubt the most overrated musical act EVER.
