Eternal thanks from Jake — I mean, Skeet

A simple word, delivered masterfully in the “Jericho” season finale by our beloved Jake Green, turned into a rallying cry for tens of thousands of fans around the country.
Perhaps no one was quite as surprised as Jake’s alter ego real-life persona, Skeet Ulrich, he tells TVGuide.
The highlights:
• The line, which is in response to New Bern’s demands that Jericho surrender, was “the toughest one” he had to deliver all season.
• His children were very excited when they heard the news, though Skeet was concerned about what their reaction would be.
• The actors had to accept being paid for just seven episodes rather than the standard 13 for a second-season renewal.
• They’ll have to film each episode in seven days; last season it was a struggle to do it in eight.
Meanwhile, Maureen Ryan, author of the Chicago Tribune’s “The Watcher” blog, drew up a most excellent TV Viewer Bill of Rights.
As I’ve previously blogged, I wholeheartedly agree with number one:
Stop caring so much about overnight Nielsen ratings. When DVR playback was added in, “Jericho’s ratings rose at least 10 percent. When making decisions to cancel or save a show, networks should factor in iTunes sales, online streaming, on-demand viewing and the fervor of a show’s audience. NBC did that with “The Office, and look how that paid off. With an Emmy, thank you.

I love Jericho it’s one of my favorite shows, I bought it off itunes and never seem to stop watching it; Jake Green is my favorite character for many reasons.
