A secret no longer

June
19

To be honest, I didn’t realize that Madacorp (owner of ZZyzx) didn’t know Kyle was still alive. I forgot that all the skulking around and spying on Kyle that seemed so sinister ended up being Foss keeping tabs on Kyle at Adam Bailen’s bidding.

That was the big surprise — to me, anyhow — from last night, and also explains why the “bad guys” wouldn’t know to just go to the Traegers to find him.

This is still the big question that I have — why did Zzyzx want to terminate the XY experiment in the first place? It seems even Madacorp folks didn’t know why.

(By the way, anyone else notice that the guy who played Ballantine is the same guy who played Morgan on Sci-Fi’s “The Dresden Files”? Yes, I am such a geek.)

So back to the beginning — Jessi kills a bad guy who threatens her with a pretty nasty knife. This is ABC Family? Very dark. Cool, but quite un-Family-like.

Jessi-with-no-’e’ is where Kyle was at the beginning of last season, but doesn’t have the luck to end up in the bosom of the Traeger family and instead meets up with a Deliverance-era hunter. That’s gotta screw up a childhood. Such as hers is, anyhow.

Very interesting, though, her intangible connection to Kyle. She immediately connected to him upon just hearing his heartbeat (talk about eagle ears) and he obviously felt some sort of connection as he ran by, stopping to look around, not even knowing why he was stopping.

That’s got to cause some complications in the future. Kirsten Prout, who plays Amanda, tells TV Guide that Jessi and Amanda will come into conflict over Kyle.

109139_143_ful.jpgSure, seeing as Jessi’s mission supposedly will be to “dispose of” Kyle. And Amanda’s still with Charlie? I was nearly as disappointed as Kyle was to find that out. Charlie’s a slimeball; cheating on her. I hope she finds out soon. I’m sure she will. It is television, after all. Her new ‘do looked better on screen than it had in still photos, however.

I felt really badly for Declan. He really has put himself on the line for Kyle. Though I understand Kyle’s feelings (and Foss’), I think he’s not doing right by Declan. For someone I started out disliking at the start of last season, he’s become a rather clutch character; someone with true character.

By the by, there are 23 episodes for this season 2, so we’re in for a much longer ride than last year. Cool.

Episode thoughts, anyone?

I always thought that Kyle XY was
    D.A.R.Y.L.

  2. Amy Vernon

    OK, Steve, you’re stalking me.

  3. Steve C.

nah thats a different series. ;-] or is the police’s i’ll be watching you playing in background? ;-]\

you happened to touch on 2 shows that interested me. for a change it was american drivel etc..

so here’s a question he doesnt have a belly button. is it on the back of his neck? because then he would be an invitro from space above and beyond. now that was a show…

    :-)

i meant wasnt american drivel. :-(

    Ha!

Oh, and his belly button is a puzzle for me, too. I was figuring that even though he was gestated in a tank, there’d have to be some way to get nutrients into him, other than by osmosis thru the pink goo. Whatever. That’s their “think” – belly button-less. But I doubt very very much that the Deliverance hunter from last night would have noticed nake Jessi’s lack of bellybutton so quickly. She had other ahem attributes that I would have thought would have kept him occupied before noticing that.

i have an episode for ya. Kyle wakes up from a long sleep and realizes it was all a dream and he’s just a high school kid that had a fight with his parents and sent to his room ..
    :-)

ok i’ll go into the corner now and wait for some more interesting shows that i actually like. ;-]

oh wait. i lied. i figured it out!
he’s from Ork. Mork didnt have a belly button either until he got preggers and hatched Jonathan winters. :-D

i know i know.. but it was fun. i was bored at work and this got me really thinking..

Does Kyle know about Hilary and Charlie? I don’t remember. I’m excited for him to make some big move on Amanda, however. Anyhow, I’m finding it really distracting to watch Jessi on screen due to her uncanny resemblance to Michael Jackson. Yep, it’s that creepy for me.
Also, is it just me or are they trying really hard to put in lots of cutesy banter for Josh and Lori? Maybe it’s just me.
Last thought: The end part with Kyle callimg “HOME” made me melt. So cute!

  9. Amy Vernon

I don’t believe Kyle knows about Hilary and Charlie — but Lori knows.

I agree about the cutesy banter. But they always did that with the two of them. It is ABC Family, after all.

That was really cute at the end with him calling; I liked it a lot.

As for Jessi — Michael Jackson? OK, that’s a little weird. ;-)

It’s all in the eyebrows and nose.
