There good news and bad news buzzing about 30 Rock in recent days.
The good news is great: Jerry Seinfeld will make his return to the network he led to prominence in the 90s with an appearance in the season premiere. Here’s a link to one of several such reports.
“I think it’s going to be so refreshing for me to be playing myself in a show that has nothing to do with neurotic, dysfunctional New York characters,” Seinfeld said.
“We’re very excited to have Jerry on 30 Rock. Finally, my parents have an excuse to watch the show,” retorts creator/writer/star Tina Fey.
I can just picture how it’ll go down…
Jerry: And what is the deal with that Tracy guy? Is he drunk? Is he crazy? Who knows?Liz Lemon (Fey): My bookish appearance behind these glasses belies the fact that I’m the smartest, prettiest and funniest woman on TV. Oh yeah, and the main recurring storyline is that I can’t find a boyfriend.
Jerry: What is the deal with that?
Fine. I’ll stick to my day job. Now for the bad news: early Emmy fave Alec Baldwin is acting strangely again.
No, he’s not yelling at his daughter or quitting show business. But he is asking people to boycott his new movie, the one he wrote, directed and produced. The one starring Anthony Hopkins, Dan Aykroyd and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Studio bosses spiked 2001’s The Devil and Daniel Webster, but the film has been re-edited and renamed with a pseudonym inserted for Baldwin’s directing credit. But he wants even less to do with it than that.
I believe the word you’re searching for is “Huh?”
