CC, you have a pretty good point there. No matter what, Kiefer's a class act and a great actor. It speaks volumes that, despite this season's quality, he still was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Jack Bauer.

See my post from today for other repsonses to all these thoughtful quotes. And Rickey - thanks for the link to the iF magazine article!

You know, most actors in a bad season (A) don't show up to a critics event to make any comments at all and (B) even if they did show up, they mostly claim "I act what's on the page, everything else I don't have anything to do with". KS didn't make any of these statements or claims. He owns this show and he's proud of it and he'll defend it to the end of it's run. It takes alot of courage to face your toughest critics with a smile, especially about a show that took one of the biggest nose dives in TV history last season. He's a class act. A side note -- after seven years on the same job, I'd wanna get out and do something different too. It's normal..I give him props for sticking to his contract and still be excited about it enough to do it at all!

So much anger among Bauer fans!

Chill out! 24 is still better than 90% of the stuff they're putting out as television shows nowadays. What? You want to prove you're smarter than a 5th grader? Go, Jack, go!

Crapapalooza! Ha. This Africa idea sounds like the writer's attempt to infuse a real life political cause into the show, something along the lines of "Blood Diamond" (which was an excellent flick).

Also, didn't they recently announce that the new season was going to be set primarily in the DC area and possible NYC as well? I think I read that yesterday.

Also, you remember that some shows just play out. unless they bring something new to the table. Even M*A*S*H had to call it quits. ;-]

@Steve C.: Why? It's not that he gets to make good movies. Kiefer is dedicated as ever, trust me on that.

I don't know why there is so much hate towards the sixth season. Yes, it wasn't as good as Season 5. There are always up and downs. Remember Season 4? But 24 is still terrific television. Every show has better and not so good seasons. Why is everyone so especially cruel towards 24? Sometimes it seems there are only two extremes: Way over the top excitement and downright cruelty.

BTW, I LOVED the ending of the sixth season. I'm a fan since Season 1 and this one is my second favourite after Season 1. Gave Kiefer so much excellent material to play with. The scene between Jack and Heller is already a classic.
