Heroes bumps The Office from NBC preview special

Last year, The Office was the big, (relatively) new show, fresh off a hit season that NBC used to tout its fall lineup. A year later, the net needs a new hero, and finds it in Greg Grunberg.
Huh? The mind-reading cop? What, Mohinder wasn’t available?
NBC Universal’s press release about its fall primetime preview popped up in my in-box this afternoon when I was too swamped to even glance at it, let alone share it. Perusing it now I’m feeling nostalgic for last summer, when my only TV-related thoughts related to anticipation for The Office premiere and wondering how they’d resolve the angst cliffhanger of “Casino Night.”
Seeing the Dunder-Mifflin crew host the primetime preview, which shows up at odd times and places (online, on Bravo), was good tonic for the withdrawal. But Heroes’ Grunberg will be leading the latest tour through the slate of new shows on the Peacock, including Bionic Woman, Chuck, Life and Journeyman.
It won’t be completely Office-free, though. Brian Baumgartner and Angela Kinsey are among the guest stars.
The 30-minute special will start appearing Saturday and run through Sept. 23 on up to 232 NBC affiliates and cable outlets USA, SCI FI, Bravo, UniHD, Chiller, mun2, MSNBC, CNBC, Sleuth, NBC2Go, on-demand and broadband.
It will air on NBC Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Check out the 2006 preview, minus all the boring parts.
UPDATE!!! Hey, OfficeTally (who else?) found a big chunk of the 2007 preview here at IESB.net.

They had better not mess with my show. I love The Office and can't wait for season 4. Dwight Schrute forever!
