And America’s favorite dancer is…

SABRA!
Petite Sabra Johnson showed everyone watching “So You Think You Can Dance” last night that slow and steady wins the race.
She was a true dark horse, flying under everyone’s radar until the Top 10, when her skills began to really shine.
She wasn’t as flashy as Lacey, funny as Neil or smooth as Danny, but her obvious talent enabled her to soar over the other three and capture the crown.
And it was nice to see that—unlike on “American Idol”—someone who deserved to win the contest actually did. Voters went for the best dancer—although it was pretty close between Sabra and Danny on that one—not Miss Popularity.
Plus, after two seasons of boy power, wasn’t it cool to see a girl finally win?!?
That said, the rest of the finale was a big snore. Like most conclusions of these TV competitions, it had 118 minutes of filler, with only the last two minutes (the results, of course) holding any interest.
In this case, that meant wasting time with awful numbers by Ryan Cabrera and Nicole Whats-Her-Face from the Pussycat Dolls. (Who looked as if she’d gotten a last-minute spray tan before they shoved her onstage, still dripping with oil. Guess they figured the high-powered wind machine would dry her off…)
I didn’t even really get into the judges’ “favorite” routines performed again. Honestly, even though they all kept saying how much better the dancers were this season, I don’t think the choreography kept up with them.
Was anyone else wowed by anything they saw this time around? I mean, the hummingbird dance with Jaime and Hok was lovely, and Mia’s vision of the afterlife with Neil and Lacey was touching.
But were any of you REALLY knocked out by them?
Personally, “this is what I consider”:http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=970782185 a blow-me-away routine.
Not surprisingly, “Ramalama Bang Bang” is what got Wade Robson nominated for an Emmy. He’s up against Mia Michael for the “bench dance.” Again, I actually remember that one! Find out if either of them win on Sept. 8. (The creative Emmys are a week before the big ones roll out Sept. 16.)
So that’s all the “Dance” for now, folks! Until next summer…Ramalama Bang Bang!

I was so glad Sabra won! She really deserved it. I was amazed that my top two were America’s top two, that didn’t happen last year, LOL!
