Kyle XY: Lockdown

August
28

108959_d_066_ful.jpgFinally! The Traegers are putting the pieces together.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — I appreciate that Kyle XY doesn’t make viewers wait forever for various plot points to be resolved. They’re always creating new mysteries and secrets, but they don’t get dragged out forever and ever and ever.

Case in point: Amanda got over her “I can’t trust men because of Charlie” freakiness and remembered that Kyle is Kyle and isn’t going to cheat on her. If he says he’s not cheating, she can take that to the bank and cash it.

OK. I’m really busy today, so I’m gonna go fast on this one:
• Andy started to really annoy me, for the first time. I’m glad she got over herself, made up with Josh and realized she has to let people in for a change. She and Josh are a cute diversion from the usual Kyle-ness of the show.
• Good for Steven for checking things out and finding Foss. It wasn’t clear if he realized that the guy talking to Foss was Brian Taylor, but either way, he knows that something serious is going on and that Kyle’s in danger.
• I liked Hillary for a change, and she was absolutely right about the pity party between Lori and Declan. And she was actually starting to make headway; Declan and Lori just were both too pigheaded to let her.
• I have to admit, I was very happy to see Declan and Lori make up. I’m a sap, OK, fine.
• Kyle’s really learning to use his brain. Now he just needs to find out what’s in there that Jessi can pull out.
108959_d_530_ful.jpg• Jessi, fortunately, is well aware that Madacorp is trying to use her as a weapon against Kyle. She and Kyle, I think, will be a formidable weapon to use against Madacorp. I don’t think Madacorp’s plans will come to fruition. Just a hunch.
• I’d thought that Madacorp was following orders from Brian Taylor and his folks (whoever they might be), but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Taylor and Madacorp seem to be working toward some of the same goals, but with different endgames in mind. To Taylor, it’s just as important to keep Kyle alive as it is to get the info from his brain. To Ballantine, Kyle is utterly unimportant. Is Kyle so important to Brian because he’s the reflection of his old (and betrayed) friend, Adam Baylin? Who, really, is Brian working for?
• Exactly how strong is Foss? How did he manage to break loose of his bonds after going through that torture in the chair? And even with only one hand free, it took what, two or three guards to break his grip on Taylor’s throat? There’s more to Foss than we’ve ever imagined.

Next week is the “Season Finale.” I put that in quotes, because they actually filmed 22 episodes; the remainder are scheduled to run sometime “midseason.” I put that in quotes because what the heck is a midseason anymore with new seasons of programming going on the air about every five minutes?

Wow, Kyle XY has become the best show on TV and you've hit the nail on the head on why: Great stories that don't drive us bonkers with waiting!

Now if Stargate Atlantis would just start up again I'd have uninterrupted bliss, but no! It'll be close enough though :-)

Ever since the episode where Kyle's visions started when he first thought he was predicting the future but had been seeing memories from his past (where he begins to develop holographic memory) and it leads him to a message by Baylin warning him to not trust Foss—the message that had originally read to not trust Taylor but had been tampered with so when Kyle decoded it the message read don't trust Foss speculation of a connection between Foss and Emily Hollander have begun surfacing—even after it was revealed that the traitor was really Taylor it seems that their is still a connection between the two.

Foss had said his family died in a car crash some years ago. We learned from him during the lie detector test he was forced into by Madacorp that his wife's name had been Ericka and later after looking at a picture of his family we see his daughter's name has been
Sarah. We have also since then seen Emily Hollander's daughter Paige who resembles Sarah as much as Emily seems to resemble Ericka.

In the episode where Kyle discovered that warning when Foss left a while later and Emily left Jessi at about the same time—she had done so after seeing a photo of Kyle with Foss—her reaction to the photo was interesting—and the way she left at the same time as Foss is suspicious—even more interesting is how in House of Cards when Emily bumped into Foss at Madacorp she identified him right away as Kyle's handler or protector but not likely as her husband (or ex husband).

However, in Lockdown when she talked to Kyle and said that if Kyle did not bring Jessi back her family (Emily's family) would even suffer for it—after telling Kyle that Jessi knew the truth about who she really is and ran away she asks him to find Jessi—otherwise Emily's family would be in danger and at the moment she turned and looked at Foss in the chair—in the prior episode when the test was going on she wanted to stop it when it seemed like Foss was getting hurt—surprisingly Taylor even wanted to stop the test but Ballantine chose to continue—lets not forget that when Emily was talking to Kyle also in this episode and after she said that her family would be in danger if Jessi did not return, that Jessi was in trouble as well and even Kyle was in danger along with everyone he cared for (Emily looked at Foss again).

I strongly believe that Emily was indeed Foss's wife maybe she changed her name after they separated and she changed their daughter's name as well. I don't know why she would change her name from Ericka to Emily or maybe it had always been Emily but she lied to Foss when they got married about what her first name really was. Who knows what could have really happened but I still feel there is a connection between Foss and Emily.

Matt – Thanks for stopping by! Always glad to "meet" other Kyle fans. :-)

Manpan – That's a really interesting thought. It had not crossed my mind at all, but I can't help but wonder if there's something to it. Emily's background is totally unclear and there's no explanation whatsoever as to how she ended up a single mom. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants if Foss' family was still alive and all this time hadn't lived that far away? Well, you've given me something to ponder over.
