The story behind Kevin Smith not directing Battlestar Galactica

Imagine my surprise tonight when I logged onto Remote Access ever-so-briefly to post the Jericho recap and found we’d been linked to from a post entitled “I am not the last Cylon.”
Aha! Another Battlestar fan, I figured, and clicked on the link.
It was utter and complete shock when I discovered it was a link to none other than Kevin Smith’s personal blog. That’s possibly the most freaking cool thing that’s ever happened to me in my geeky little blogger life.
Smith’s explanation, not shockingly, includes several words that are unprintable in a family blog. But it basically was a matter of waiting just this much too long before saying yes.
Remind me of this next time someone asks me if I want to do something I really want to do.
That’s OK, though. Smith directed the first (and it’s really good) episode of Reaper, one of my favorites for the upcoming season, and will be directing Heroes: Origins in the spring. So we’ll get plenty of Kevin Smith on the boob tube.
