‘The Answer dishes to The Question. The Question back to The Answer. Answer over to The Question. The Answer — swish, 3 points!’ –Michael Scott

The Office summer hiatus has been all about questions: What did Jim mean when he said, “Then it’s a date,”? What became of Karen after Jim left New York? Did Dwight have to repaint Michael’s office?

Hopefully, Thursday’s season premiere will be all about answers, though based on last year’s opener, I wouldn’t get my hopes too high.

Keeping with the theme of questions and answers, the following video puts five key questions to the Dunder-Mifflinites. Judging by the answers, there might be a little jealousy of Steve Carell’s silver-screen success (even after Evan Almighty). Also, John Krasinski’s a laugher and a cryer. And apparently what happens in the guys’ trailer, stays in the guys’ trailer.

Got an Office question of your own? Well you can ask Steve Carell yourself, courtesy of TVGuide.com. I don’t know when they’ll relay the questions and post the answers, but they promise to do just that.

(By the way, if you don’t recognize it, that quote in the headline is from “Basketball”, the fifth episode of Season 1.)

As a reminder, the premiere is one-hour long and starts at 9 p.m. ET, Thursday on NBC. Here’s the official episode summary for “Fun Run”…

A freak accident causes Michael to feel the office is cursed. He explores the religious beliefs of his employees before deciding to hold a charity 5K fun run. Meanwhile, further developments in the romances of Pam and Jim, and Dwight and Angela are explored.

Oh, and it wouldn’t be a new season without a return to the TVGuide.com celebrity blog, again ably performed by Kate Flannery, aka Meredith the Office drunk. Here’s a snippet…

Season 4 is about to begin airing and may I say, I am very excited about the season opener. Ryan the temp is now Michael’s boss. Look out! And Jan has moved in with Michael. Duck! And Jim asked Pam to dinner. Don’t breathe! I got to do some great scenes that I cannot talk about until next week. But I will say I had a few really fun scenes with Steve. And a fun scene with Rainn and the whole cast and no, it is not the booze talking.
