Kiefer Sutherland was arrested on a DUI charge in West Hollywood in the wee hours of this morning (1:35 a.m. Pacific, which would be 4:35 a.m. our time on the correct coast).
According to TMZ.com, he blew twice the legal limit of .08.
This apparently is the second time he’s been busted on DUI in the past couple years (he was arrested in 2004). California law says that if he’s convicted, he must serve the minimum mandatory of five days in jail.
He’d been at the Fox “Fall Eco-Casino Party” — the network holds a semi-annual party and the theme was Eco-Casino. According to Zap2It.com, the proceeds were split between Habitat for Humanity and the Nature Conservancy.
Apparently, our favorite television bad good guy had a wee too much to drink, though the charge was a misdemeanor. He was stopped after making an illegal U-turn at La Cienega and Beverly, wherever that is.
Anyhow, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department website, he was booked at 4:09 a.m. and released at 5:42 a.m. on $25,000 bail. Oh, and he’s 40, weighs 150 and is 5-foot-10. He’s due back in court at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 16. (Booking number 9953104, for those who are curious.)
