Isaiah and Jaime Sommers

No, not Isiah, silly, Isaiah Washington.
Can you imagine if Isiah Thomas called Jaime Sommers a less-than-flattering name?
Washington joins Bionic Woman tonight for a five-episode story arc, playing a character named Antonio Pope. But apparently there’s talk about his character being spun off into his own show “once Bionic Woman becomes a huge hit.”
I’m not sure where this interview originally appeared, but it’s pretty astounding if the NBC folks already are considering a spin-off. That’s awfully confident of them.
Of course, Bionic has done rather well in the ratings, especially in “the demo” (adults 18-49).
This is what he had to say about Jaime Sommers:
She’s no different than a B-1 bomber or an F-16 as far as the government is concerned. That’s where his challenge is with her. She is half machine but she’s also half woman. Jaime is Antonio Pope’s humanity, and that humanity is daunting to him. If he falls short, he could get them both killed.
Interesting.
Oh, and Corvus (the first Bionic Woman’s last name) is Latin for raven or crow and is the genus name for the crow species. It’s also the name of one of the 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy.
With David Eick on board as an execprod, I find it hard to believe that holds no significance. Maybe Sarah Corvus is the final Cylon! (Just kidding!)
Thoughts, anyone?
