30 Rock bringing stuntcasting to an art form

Steve Buscemi, the creepiest funny man—or funniest creepy guy—around, guest stars on 30 Rock tonight. He’ll be tough to top, even for a show that’s brought stuntcasting to an art form.
Edie Falco might do it in her turn as congresswoman/love interest of Jack Donaghy’s. David Schwimmer, on the other hand, is no Steve Buscemi.

I’m still intrigued to see the former Friend make his appearance, particularly after witnessing his hilarious arc as Bloom to Larry David’s Bialystock (or was it Bialystock to David’s Bloom) on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
For my money, he put Ross Geller behind him in that lobby scene with Larry and Cheryl. He’ll play an out-of-work actor hired to be NBC’s environmental mascot, reports say. Carrie Fischer is on tap for a guest spot soon too.

Michael Ausiello has been dishing some Rock scoop lately, too.
The show is casting Liz’s family  mom, dad and an older brother who’s been, erm, “off” since a skiing accident in his youth. The show is looking for “names” for all three roles, and preferably ones with comedy backgrounds. In other words, Tony “Buster” Hale, the brother part is yours to lose.
From your mouth to Tina Fey’s ears, Mike. Then there’s this…
…the laffer is about to show Jenna a gay old time  literally. A casting call has been issued for Sacha and Patrice  both male, despite the names  who will make up The Girlie Show star’s own velvet mafia.
Curious who made Liz Lemon the way she is, besides Tina Fey, I mean? Turns out, a casting call is out for Liz’s family, BuddyTV reports.
Want more as you gear up for tonight’s edition? Here’s a sit-down with Scott Asdit, who plays Pete the producer. His strangest ‘Only in New York’ moment is topped only by the one thing that would make him leave the city. And no, I’m not going to repeat that kind of language here.
Here’s the summary for tonight’s “The Collection”…
In an effort to cut off any chance of GE digging up dirt against him, Jack (Alec Baldwin) hires his own private investigator, Len (Guest Star Steve Buscemi), to head them off. However, when Jack learns that he must give up his secret cookie jar collection, it almost proves to be too much of a sacrifice. Tracy’s (Tracy Morgan) wife, Angie (Guest Star Sherri Shepherd), announces that she is going to be with him at all times to make sure that he behaves. Liz (Tina Fey) thinks this will be good for Tracy, however, when Tracy forces Liz to cover for him, she quickly learns that it doesn’t pay to be on Angie’s bad side. Meanwhile, Jenna (Jane Krakowski) is enjoying all the success and admiration her weight gain has brought until she realizes that she is starting to lose the weight. Steve Buscemi and Sherri Shepherd guest star; Scott Adsit, Kevin Brown, Jack McBrayer and Maulik Pancholy also star.

I love David Schwimmer.
