Non-spoilery Battlestar news

Two things of import that contain NO SPOILER information whatsoever also came out over the weekend relating to Battlestar Galactica.
There’s still no premiere date for Season 4, according to SyFy Portal.
La La Land Records, which apparently distributes the BSG soundtracks, issued a press release saying the fourth season premiere would be Jan. 11, a Friday. A SciFi Channel source told the Portal that’s wrong
A spokeswoman for SciFi Channel denied the date to SyFy Portal, saying only that the show would premiere its fourth season in “early 2008” and that it was “not January.”
That stinks. It can’t come fast enough for this BSG fan. The soundtrack, however, will go on sale Oct. 23 (that’s tomorrow).
Then, there’s the matter as to whether/why SciFi would split the final season in two, also from SyFy Portal:
In the same conversation through his wife, Moore also revealed that he has only just recently completed Episode 13 of the last season, which means he still has six episodes to write before writers walk out on Nov. 1 as part of an imminent writers strike. It’s unclear how Moore is covered under WGA rules in case of a strike, and if his position as an executive producer affects his ability to continue writing even during a walkout. It had been believed that writing was nearly complete so that “Battlestar Galactica’s” shooting schedule would remain uninterrupted in case of a prolonged writers strike. With this news, however, it seems almost impossible  unless the strike is short-lived  that the final season would not be split with one half in 2008 and the other half in 2009.
The only good news out of that is that it might not be SciFi’s fault if the season is split, which would make me far less mad at the channel. I’m sure they’re awfully relieved.
As for the strike, the union has voted to strike if no deal is set by Oct. 31. The wheels are in motion. Reality TV enthusiasts and programmers are salivating. Cross your fingers.
