We finally get a first look at 24’s Season 7 and it looks really great. Of course, one could have said that about the Season 6 crapapalooza, which also had a great trailer (as Blogs4Bauer pointed out).
You can go to B4B to check it out, or go straight to YouTube. Or, you can go stand in the rain in Times Square at 1 p.m. today. Or go to www.24trailer.com after 1 p.m. today. Or just come back here:
It’s got your torture (both in word and in deed, plus Jack gets to say, “I’m going to enjoy this” in response to being told he can do whatever needs to be done to get the information). It’s got your mole (in the FBI; CTU doesn’t exist anymore). It’s got your Chloe (got snark?). It’s got Jack basically telling Congress that yeah, he tortured people, but the alternative would have been far worse for far more people.
And it’s got Tony. Nearly shaved head. Soul patch! Bad Tony.
Really bad. He’s trying to crash an airliner (will Jack save them in time?). He’s leading the Bad People.
What?
I’m really hoping that Tony just seems to be bad, but is really trying to stop the bad things from happening.
Though, as someone on B4B pointed out, Tony lost everything he cared about (except Jack) because of a corrupt U.S. government, so why would he want to help the country that basically ruined his life?
At least Jack has a bad guy who it’s not a slam-dunk to torture and kill. He won’t be able to face Tony and just shoot him or try to dig his eye out with a spoon.
And if Tony truly, truly is Bad, will Jack be able to do what needs to be done?
Stay tuned for Jan. 13 to start finding out….
UPDATE: By the by, 24 headed to D.C. this week for its FIRST-EVER shoot outside of Los Angeles. Good timing. Away from the fires. They’re going to shoot scenes from eight different episodes during this time, Variety reported.
“The idea is to sell Washington in the first batch of episodes and, hopefully, people will have bought into the setting later on,” when more of the scenes are actually shot in L.A., said “24” exec producer Howard Gordon.…
The Fox series will likely return to D.C. to shoot more scenes in the spring. In the meantime, Los Angeles will double for the first time on “24” as another city—a prospect that has reinvigorated the production team.
PLUS, here’s a little semi-spoilery info, but not really, about Season 7, from TVSquad:
Episodes 7 and 8 will feature John Brunner, an Ohio Plant Manager in his 40s who tries to prevent a potentially deadly catastrophe from happening; and Rosa Gonzales, a woman who is concerned about Ike Dubaku (played by Hakeem Kae-Kazim) and warns her sister about it. Maria Gonzales, a new recurring will be introduced in those episodes. She is involved with Ike and doesn’t know his true identity. It seems that the fake African country [Note from Amy: Scroll down to the bottom of that link] we mentioned in a past edition of our spoilers column has now become Darfur.
