Why we strike: Writers make their case

November
7

At the risk of shilling for the Writer’s Guild, I’m posting this well-crafted video detailing their case for their contract demands with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Check out “United Hollywood”:http://unitedhollywood.blogspot.com/2007/11/office-down-for-good.html to learn more about their side of the story.

“AMPTP’s Web site”:http://www.amptp.org/index.html is decidedly and not surprisingly more corporate-looking, less flashy and also not hosted by commercial blog host. There are no YouTube videos there to share.

You can get a decent sense of the alliance’s 350 member studios there. And if you’re a union writer considering crossing the picket line, the rules for doing so are helpfully spelled out there as well.
