The worst TV shows — ever!

November
13

The Chicago Tribune recently came up with its list of the top 25 worst shows ever.

Some, I’d never even heard of, such as 1961’s Jackie Gleason quiz-then-talk-show bomb (apparently even he said of the show, “I’ve seen bombs in my day, but this one made the H-bomb look like a 2-inch salute.”), You’re in the Picture.

Others I’ve heard and have had opportunities to see, in re-runs or live, and have never seen: Petticoat Junction (1963-70), My Mother the Car (1965-66) and B.J. and the Bear (1979-81).

Then there are those that I’m embarrassed to admit I watched, though in retrospect I can’t remember why: The Ropers (1979-80), Mama’s Family (1983-90) and Small Wonder (1985-89).

Cavemen, not surprisingly, also made the list.

So what do you think? What should be on the list, but isn’t? What is on the list, but shouldn’t be?

Share, discuss.

Here’s the entire list, sans descriptions. You’ll have to Google whatever shows you’ve never heard of, or check out the Tribune’s original article, linked to in the first sentence of this post.

There were a lot of those on the list that I've never seen and a couple on the list I actually watched (Beauty and the Beast and Mama's Family). There are a few that I think should be added to the list:

The Golden Palace (Golden Girls Sequel)
    Blossom
    Family Matters

    and Viva Laughlin!

    Yvonne —
I don't even recall the Golden Palace. I'm glad I missed that one. I faithfully watched Blossom and thankfully mostly missed Family Matters. I'm kind of sorry, in a car wreck sorta way, that I missed Viva Laughlin. Then, I'm not.

    Charlene —
I'm glad to say I didn't watch ALF. ;-) But as I just confessed, I'm guilty on Blossom and you and Yvonne are both right that it belongs on this list.
