VIDEO: The penultimate Office?

Likely our second-to-last Office recap/look-a-head sees Chris and Bri shed a single tear for what looks to be a strike-shortened season.
What if Season 2 had been pre-empted before we glimpsed a loaded teapot or learned a little toaster oven 101? What if Season 3 never introduced us to Dwight, from the future? Or to personal qualities like Alpha-male, jackhammer?
Who knows what gems we’ll be deprived of? The next PamCasso, maybe? A cool glass of lemoñadé? The very thought is like a frozen sledgehammer to the griefbone. Where was I? Oh yeah, “Survivorman” and what’s next…

Part of why The Office is already out of shows is because several of the actors are also writers. NBC announced last week that they were shutting down early after Steve Carell announced he would not cross the picket line (I guess conceivably they could have filmed around Kelly, Toby, and Ryan). So I don’t think in was the hour-long episodes episodes that shut them down early.
Actually they worked overtime to put out the equivalent of eight episodes in four weeks, leaving them only a week ahead of their broadcast schedule. That’s why they have only one episode left whereas a show like 30 Rock—which stars striking writer Tina Fey—has five left to air. Neither could keep shooting because writers/actors walked out, but 30 Rock had filmed episodes in the bank whereas The Office fell behind and did not.
