Sarah Corvus can’t stand ‘Bionic Woman,’ either

November

starbuck.jpgWhile at the Battlestar Galactica convention last week in Burbank, Katee Sackhoff let it be known that she has no plans to return to Bionic Woman even if it were to be picked up (looking ever more unlikely, with the ratings sinking week after week) after the strike is resolved.

BSG fanblog Roadrunner attended the convention and shared lots of news and notes. What I found most interesting was the following:

Katee Sackhoff is done with Bionic Woman, and not just because of the strike. She has a meeting with one of the producers after Thanksgiving, but does not expect to return to the show even if it does resume production (which I don’t personally believe will happen anyway). She is even already trying to divorce herself from being associated with Sarah Corvus. Katee never came out and explicitly stated the reason for her departure from the show, but her thinly veiled sassy comments made it pretty apparent that there isn’t a lot of love going on between her and Michelle Ryan.

I would think, too, for Katee, that after being on such a spectacular show such as Battlestar, it would be hard for her to accept the low quality of BW.

But that’s just this writer’s humble opinion.

This is just rumor-mongering. You don’t provide any direct quotes of what Sackhoff actually said, and you’re only taking one person’s interpretation of her comments into account—an interpretation which even that fan admits is a read-between-the-lines thing. I’ve read plenty of comments from other fans who attended that convention who didn’t get that impression at all, and think this take on her remarks is blowing it completely out of proportion.

    Sloppy, sloppy.

This interpretation of Sackhoff’s comments has been directly contradicted by others who attended the event. Please corroborate such things in the future before posting them as fact!

    This passes for journalism?

I was THERE at the con in Burbank this weekend. Katee never said ANYTHING about Michelle Ryan. This report is highly skewed, out of context and biased.

Katee never made any “thinly veiled sassy comments” about MR.

The fan who posted that report has been known for writing scathing comments about Katee Sackhoff’s appearance and for taking her comments out of context and skewing them in the worst possible way. Several others who were at the convention got a completely different impression.

Here’s a transcriptof what Katee acually said:

Bionic Woman on the other hand, (clapping) um, thank you, um I don’t know what’s gonna happen with that one. I’m not even really like on the show anymore. I’m having a sit down with one of the new show runners in a couple of weeks or something like that to discuss future on the show. I don’t know what’s gonna happen with that you know. Battlestar has such a following that it does make sense for them to finish it. Bionic Woman on the other hand is such an expensive show and the ratings are (Katee makes a raspberry noise).

That was one of my questions (trivia) ‘Who knows why Bionic Woman isn’t doing well’ (audience shouts lots of diff things, I heard ‘no Katee’) she shrugs I didn’t say that. I don’t know what will happen.

    She never mentioned Michelle Ryan

Please check out my follow-up post on the issue; I think it clarifies issues a bit (I really never meant to focus on Katee’s relationship with anyone, my main issue was that BW has stunk up the joint and had every reason not to):
