Here’s another way to survive the writer’s strike

In what can only be described as genius (no, no one from ABC paid me to say that), ABC has added My So-Called Life to its shows that you can watch in full online.
The pilot episode was put up Friday:
Angela Chase is a 15-year-old girl on the cusp of becoming something. No longer a girl but not quite a woman, she dyes her hair “Crimson Glow,” rethinks her friendships, and tries to navigate her home and high school lives from a new and unsteady perspective.
This is the show that made Claire Danes a star and came from thirtysomething creators Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick.
I wonder, perhaps, if this was done because Herskovitz and Zwick recently inked a deal with NBC to bring their made-for-online series, Quarterlife, to the small big screen.
Is ABC trying to beat NBC to the punch?
And another question/point: Who’s getting paid with My So-Called Life streaming in full online? This entire writer’s strike is about compensation for DVD sales and online use. Are H&Z, the writers, the cast, the crew, any of them, getting paid for the streaming video like they would if ABC were broadcasting the episodes? I wonder. I wonder if this is a genius  but ironically kinda evil  move on ABC’s part.
Hmm.
