A holiday-themed episode of “Top Chef” that debuts tonight at 9 on Bravo features some of my favorite contestants from the show’s first three seasons.
From Season 1, we get wine connoisseur Stephen Asprinio and no-nonsense Tiffani Faison. From the second season, we get feisty Betty Fraser, bouffanted rapper Marcel Vigernon and the kicked-off-too-soon Josie Smith-Malave. From the most recent competition, we get hilarious Chris “C.J.” Jacobson, the kicked-off-WAY-too-soon Tre Wilcox and the mohawked Sandee Birdsong.
For the most part, we get the best chefs who never won the competition, including a couple—Vigernon and Wilcox—who probably should have.
They’re competing for $20,000. I’m predicting the Top 3 will be Wilcox, Smith-Malave and Vigernon, with Wilcox taking home the cash and the arbitrary title of “Top (Seasonal Special) Chef.”
