Write the rest of ‘Housewives’

January
7

“Desperate Housewives” said sayonara last night with the last new episode for a good long while—thanks to the ongoing writers’ strike.
Luckily, we did get to find out who bit the big one after that tornado hit Wisteria Lane: Gaby’s hubby, Victor; Adam’s crazy patient/lover Sylvia; and neighbor Ida.

(Come on, did ANYONE really think that Lynette’s kids—or Tom, for that matter—were goners?)

So how did “DH” leave us last night?

• Bree and her family are living with Susan, who actually doesn’t mind the Bree-ification of her house, since Mike’s in rehab and all.

• Katherine kicks Adam to the curb because of his affair with Sylvia. Before he leaves, he finds the note that Katherine’s now-deceased aunt wrote—presumably spilling the secret she’s been keeping about what happened to Dylan. Adam tells Katherine HE’S leaving HER, and Dylan finds the note that Katherine unsuccessfully burns.

• Gaby doesn’t inherit squat from Victor and Carlos is broke. Seems that the money dude who moved all of Carlos’ hidden money up and died. No password to the new account, no moola. Plus, Carlos is blind: He lost his sight during the tornado, and he hasn’t told Gaby yet.

Now here’s the fun part for all you “DH” fans out there: If there was another episode next Sunday, what do you think should happen?

We want you to write the rest of the season!! Here’s what to do:

Post a summary of your “script” in the comments section below. We’ll choose the most creative episode synopsis as the jumping off-point for next week’s episode, and post it here next Monday.

We’ll do the same thing every week until May, building those storylines as our faux season progresses.

So here’s my contribution to this project—my idea of what would happen next week if “DH” were still on the air:

“Good Fences Make Good Neighbors:” As Wisteria Lane starts to rebuild, some temporary households are created. Mrs. McCluskey moves in with Lynette, and Bree continues her invasion of Susan’s house, except now she’s offering unsolicited pregnancy and parenting advice. Some of Bree’s answers make Susan suspicious that she may not have given birth to her son. Gaby takes Carlos home, oblivious to the fact that he’s now blind. (He’s told her he had LASIK surgery while he was in the hospital.) After a few hilarious days of Carlos bumping into the furniture and Gaby fetching things for him, she starts to think something’s not quite right.

Come on, people! I know you can do better than my silly summary—post your own script now.

Happy TV writing!
