The Sunflower Seeds Revolution moves ahead

Beginning Feb. 1, USA Network President Bonnie Hammer will be bombarded by angry fans of The 4400.
As I previously reported, sunflower seeds will be their weapon of choice, selected because of Kevin Burkhoff’s lament in “Tiny Machines” that while he was being held in Promise City, they didn’t even give him sunflower seeds.

Savethe400.net has been set up as a clearinghouse for all the info you need to know to help in the effort, including a link to the petition, the MySpace page, the LiveJournal blog, and NutsOnline  the company that helped Jericho Rangers save their show from extinction and who The 4400s hope will be their good-luck charm.

The idea of Feb. 1 was to give fans enough time to get their acts together (the original date was Jan. 2, too soon after the holidays) and also to set a date when a concentrated barrage could begin.
What made the Jericho “Nuts to CBS” campaign so successful was the continued shipments of nuts, along with unrelenting (but polite) letters/e-mails/faxes/phone calls.
Can lightning (or edible goodies with a long shelf life) strike twice?
Stay tuned.
Seattle became Promise City by the end of Season 4.
Maybe 30 Rock can become Sunflower City before we’re done.

Hee Hee, I bet Jeff at Nutsonline had no idea the variety of ways that new customers would show up thanks to the Jericho campaign! I don’t know if I have it in me to fight another battle like the one we fought for Jericho, but I am a 4400 fan and have signed the petition. I will also send some sunflower seeds and take some of the other steps. I don’t know if lightening can strike twice or not, but if 4400 fans can get as organized, perhaps…
