Like fellow “Idol” alumna Frenchie Davis, Diana DeGarmo has also made a name for herself on Broadway, playing Penny Pingleton in “Hairspray.”
Although DeGarmo scored a minor pop hit with “Dreams” after becoming the Season 2 runner-up to Fantasia Barrino at the age of 16, she has not had a significant impact on the pop music scene since. She’s found a home on the stage, however. In addition to “Hairspray,” she toured nationally in “BKLYN: The Musical.”
