Your daily Jericho fix

January
30

Keepin’ me honest, folks.

But first, a reminder: I’m looking for guest bloggers for Season 2. Check out the recaps done by guest bloggers over the summer. No fear — Margie & Edna have agreed to put aside their differences and recap the premiere and season finale (note I said “season” and not “series” finale). I wouldn’t have it any other way. Episodes 2, 3 and 5 are spoke for, but I’m still taking volunteers. And if I get too many volunteers, we can double up; we’ve done that before (how do you think Margie & Edna did their first guest blog?) E-mail me if you want to take one on. They’re fun! (And not due the next day; you actually get a couple of days to write ‘em up!)

So, onward.

emilyrose.jpgFirst off, (thanks, Clarke!) the Jennings & Rall website has a new blog, from Trish Merrick. She’s the character portrayed in Season 2 by Emily Rose, a J&R employee. All I’ll tell you about Trish is that you’ll hate her at first. But then, by episode 3, not so much.

Here’s a snippet from her blog:

My work in the new midwest involves going into communities that are restructuring after the destruction and need temporary advocates that can understand what priorities will get the people I’m helping back to normal the fastest. … This has been the most rewarding experience of my life and I’m grateful my supervisors at J&R have allowed me to diarize my experience here in Nebraska (and beyond), where I have been stationed for a few weeks so far. … My blog is part of a program, similar to embedding, there were 5 people chosen whose skills in writing were assessed, and I was one of them. The C.E.O. of Jennings&Rall wants there to be a record by example of all of our great work. … Rule: First names only. No pictures, no drawings, nothing visual. No danger. Nothing that might scare anyone can appear in this. I’m not sure what they mean but I think I understand: nothing to scare other people.

So, we know that Trish served time in Nebraska before coming to Jericho. The “new midwest”? Interesting phrasing. Hmm. I think this blog will be worth repeated readings.

• Here’s a very cool promo video for Season 2. “Season 2 of Jericho brings many answers to what is happening in the outside world, as it lands smack dab in the middle of town square. A new flag, a new Government, and a well hidden plot, are the realities of the broken America.” (Thanks, Jane and Tero! This vid was by Rubber Poultry, no?)
• OMG, these posters are hilarious. I love the GiantAngryJake one, myself. Erika, you’re genius, girl. There’s more on Jericho Monster and Jericho Junction.
• Entries are being taken until midnight tonight for this week’s “Hey Rangers! Caption This!” Click here for rules and here for the week’s screen capture from schumi. Voting opens immediately after the contest closes and runs through 8 p.m. ET Sunday (Feb. 3).
• Starting about 6 p.m. Sunday, head over to Bailey’s Tavern at Jeritopia for a Super Bowl party.
• Margie & Edna will have a pre-premiere chat at 10 p.m. Feb. 10 at Jeritopia, hosted by Clarke.

Thanks Amy. Yes, the vid is from RP. Isn’t he amazing?

Hmm, the blog is interesting, especially on day 3 when she says she has dinner with “two very old ladies north of town”. Wonder if she was referring to Margie and Edna?
GREAT video from RP as always! He’s an amazing talent and CBS should freaking hire him!

I almost blogged about those two “very old ladies” being M&E. Then I thought I’d let everyone stumble upon it themselves. :-)

I am so happy with CBS this time around, they are really trying to blow the doors off this thing!

    Thanks for everything, Amy!
