Knight Rider cast news

I have to admit, I was stunned this morning when I read that, despite having complete ALL the voiceover work, Will Arnett had withdrawn from the Knight Rider telemovie/back door pilot.
It seems Arnett is the voice of GMC trucks in their ads (KITT is a Ford Mustang, so this was a major advertising conflict). Whether it was indeed a contractural conflict or something else appears to be unclear, but I have to ask this:
When did Arnett forget he did voiceover work for Ford’s competition?
I’m sorry, that’s just freakin’ weird. This occurred to not a single person, even GMC, when it was announced that he was the voice of KITT?
So, now, Val Kilmer’s gotten the gig, and he has little more than a week before the movie airs (Sunday, Feb. 17 on NBC) to get all the voiceover work done.
Geez. Val’s aged since he donned the latex suit to play Batman.

Why has Val Kilmer been relegated to appearing on lesser known tv shows? This man needs to be making movies again. Good movies. And by all reports, this Knight Rider remake does not qualify.
