A "Smallville" Weak Link

I though the most recent installment of “Smallville” wasn’t even close to being one of its best. We already knew that young Lex’s head was messed up by meanie Lionel (and even Lillian! I thought she was suppose to have been a nice mom!), which is why he’s such a scorpion now. So, really, what good did it do us viewers to have Clark invading his head?
As for CK and Lana’s waning relationship, didja notice how she gave him only a pitiful peck on the cheek right before he was to undergo the above procedure, which could have killed him?
I’m all for suspension of belief when it comes to TV shows and feature films, but here’s my biggie for this episode: In Detroit, pyscho busboy Finley shot Lex in the head and then locked Kara, along with Lois, back into the fenced-in area. Wasn’t that cage less than 30 yards from where Lex was lying? If so, why weren’t Kara and Lois freed when Lex was Medivac-ed out of there. And who, may I ask, made the phone call to get him helicoptered back to Smallville?
So that’s all I have to say about this ep. Anyone else?

Finley dumped Lex's body in some ditch further away and from there he was Medivac-ed from Detroit (hello-this is Detroit, they've seen a bullet wound or two before) to Smallville, KS. Chloe may have saved Lex in the end, but his survival after getting shot in the head, carted off and left for dead in some ditch, getting discovered and then sent back to Smallville for surgery is in itself miraculous or just plain bad writing.
For a small town, Smallville must have a world class hospital to fix a bullet between the eyes. This was a badly written and directed episode.
