So Kenneth from 30 Rock showed up in a Mariah Carey video, “Touch My Body”, the first single off her new album E=MC².Â
Yeah, I’m like a week late on this one, but I honestly started and stopped this blog post several times because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to say about it. Still haven’t quite figured that out.
McBrayer portrays a dorky nerd herder—a big stretch from his role as a dorky page—who comes to fix Carey’s wonky computer. Before long there’s a viking hat, a unicorn and pillow fights. Pretty soon they’re playing laser tag and slot cars. It’s all very realistic.
McBrayer is still one of the funniest young talents to come along in a while. And Carey is still not an artist whose music I’ll ever listen to on purpose. But the video is worth a gander, if only because it might ease your 30 Rock jones. (The show starts in 22 minutes—and five weeks.)
One of the stranger subplots of this collaboration is the all the ensuing chatter about Carey returning the favor and showing up on the Rock. Who wants that to happen?
On a more substantive note than all of the above, I give you this bit of unsubstantiated scoop from the TVGuide.com scoopmaster Michael Ausiello about the plot of an upcoming episode.
My mole tells me that Liz and her motley crew will tussle with an elderly, beloved TV star from yesteryear, whose behavior doesn’t exactly jibe with his kindly, sweet reputation.
