Nadia fights her inner Thetans

March

The GlossLip blog today shared an interview that Marisol Nichols, Nadia Yassir herself, did with Source, the Scientology magazine.

GlossLip’s a big fan of 24, and was surprised to find out that Nichols is a disciple of L. Ron.

Will you all stop making cracks about Scientology? It’s really getting annoying. Terrorists are trying to blow up … well, something, somewhere and we just don’t have time for this, dammit!

I wasn’t, but that’s just because so many Hollywood types are that it doesn’t surprise me anymore. Lots of them, actually, were raised in the religion — Beck, for example. Wikipedia has a pretty extensive list of celebrity Scientologists. Doug E. Fresh? Jason Lee? Lisa Marie Presley? Greta Van Susteren? Edgar Winter? All Scientologists. Van Morrison, Christopher Reeve and Chaka Kahn are former Scientologists. Even Jerry Seinfeld said he “took a couple of courses.”

Here’s an excerpt of Nichols’ interview in Source mag, explaining how the religion has changed her for the better:

My assertion of rightness — which I used to really have — is gone. There’s a calmness to my space now. But oh yes, I move up and down the Tone Scale-now I know what moving UP and DOWN the Tone Scale means! In the same day, the same hour, the same session — it’s unbelievable! But it takes me higher and higher and higher towards freedom. I know I’m going to be free, and each session we get closer and closer to that.

Lots more excerpts on the GlossLip post linked to above, along with a definition of The Bridge and other info.

With the new of Nadia’s L. Ron Hubbard-ness in mind, I went back through my photos of Nichols from 24 this season and found new meaning in them:

Nadia: Milo, I have a confession to make. I’m a Scientologist.
Milo: Nadia, you’re so hot, that doesn’t matt — wait, you’re what? Um, I think I hear Doyle calling you.

The ghost of L. Ron Hubbard gives Nadia her marching orders.

Jack: Dammit, Nadia, stop talking about Solo NOTs! There’s no time!
Nadia: Jack, you’ll never rid yourself of Thetans if you don’t stop killing redshirts.

Nadia: Look, those are just the Tones. There’s no alarm, indicating that someone’s broken into CTU, going off. Really. I hear these tones all the time. They’re a good thing.
Chloe: Um, Nadia, no, someone really has broken into CTU.
Nadia: Dammit! Not again!

You will fight your inner Thetans. You will cross The Bridge. I’m really hot. Join Scientology.

Note: I have disabled comments on this post; it’s on the verge of becoming abusive and I don’t want to wait for that to happen. This was really just supposed to be a lighthearted look at, I don’t even know what. Perhaps I didn’t show the best judgement in even posting this in the first place. But that train’s already left the station.

Oh I knew about this last year, the whole Scientology business. It makes her more attractive knowing that she’s susceptible to complete lies about the world… it means anyone who can talk well enough has a shot at dating her.

“Tone scale”—A scale or characterization of human emotion. What do I look like when I’m being angry, how do I speak and gesture? A real useful thing for an actor to understand. How about when I’m portraying “Boredom”, how do I hold by body, how quickly do I speak, does my facial expression change? Tone scale has proven to be helpful to Hollywood people.

It’s true that Tone scales are practical for actors, but why is Scientology using it? Why would a religion be teaching this stuff to the public, instead of a business that specializes in it? Perhaps so people can lie better, be more agressive, put more pressure on people (it’s like acting, y’know) ?

Fact can be stranger than fiction.

I’m with Adam: Nadia Yassir creates new and better realities.

  5. Been there... Done that..

    Scientology is a scam.

    Scientologists are in denial.

Scientologists are forced to believe that everything written by L Ron Hubbard is the true and definitive word.

It can not be altered or disputed. If you do, then you must not understand it and you need to go back until you do.

Unfortunately, it takes a Scientologist years to find out and some never do. :-(

If you’re a scientologist reading this, please do more research and read all the stories of ex-members, then ask yourself why are they similar. The answer is obvious.

    Stop being in denial.

Scientology is hot whiners are not.

She’s a Scientologist because it has helped her be successful in life, be happier and attain her goals. I’ve “been there, done that” for three decades and not once has anyone very said that I must “believe” anything. Quite the contrary, a core tenet of Scientology is that you should NOT believe anything in Scientology until you see that it works or does not for you. This is replete in Hubbard’s works, which rides on the basic assertion that people are happier only when they are completely “self-determined”...in other words they don’t just give in to the kind of misconceptions that seem consistent on this blog.

Oh, so now you need to take expensive $cientology classes to learn how to observe and then immitate human nature? That happens to be an innate talent for MOST people – especially REALLY talented actors. If you need classes to teach you what emotions “look like” then maybe acting isn’t the best career choice for you.
I honestly see no benefit to $cientology over traditional methods of an actors education in the industry or just about anything.
It seems L.Ron Hubbard taught that celebrities are somehow more “spiritually evolved” than the average person to create an sense of celebrity worship within the “religion.”
The only real difference between the average person and many celebs, is thier need for more attention and flattery than the average person requires for their sense of self-worth – and the “church” takes full advantage of this to attract them so they could be USED as PR pawns.
