Thursday’s ‘Lost’ debate: Who are the rest of the Oceanic 6?

So far, we’ve got four names down: Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid make up two-thirds of the infamous Oceanic 6, the group of crash survivors who made some kind of devil’s deal to get the heck off Mystery Island.
We’re supposed to find out the identities of the rest of the Sixers tonight, so I thought I’d provide a forum to vent your theories before the big reveal.
And really, it all comes down to a single question: Are two slots open, or just one?
Because fans everywhere are speculating on whether Aaron is considered a Sixer.
We learned a few weeks back in Kate’s flash-forward that she has off-island custody of Aaron (or is posing as his birth mom). Folks are debating whether that means Aaron is No. 5 on the O6 list, or if he doesn’t count because he was in utero when the plane crashed (and not technically a passenger).
If Aaron is indeed a Sixer, that could open up a slot for Claire, though it wouldn’t explain why Kate’s now his mommy.
Desmond had that vision of seeing Claire and Aaron get into a helicopter, so do mother and son go home together? Nothing says Claire couldn’t have met her maker once she got off the island—and maybe she was forced to give up Aaron as part of the conspiracy cover story.
Now, before you go ga-ga over that one, here’s a hitch: Tonight’s show is all about Sun and Jin.
As you’ve all seen in the trailers, Sun has three weeks to get off the island or she’s a goner like all the other (Other?) pregnant women.
Kind of a big incentive to get the heck outta Dodge.
I’m guessing that means that at least one (or both) of them is a sure-fire Sixer.
What do you all think? Who will round out the rest of the O6?
And as long as we’re discussing numbers, who do you think are the two passengers who died after the crash—according to Jack’s trial testimony, that is?
Remember what the Oceanic cover story is: Eight survived the crash, but two died, leaving the Six.
Who are those two, and why is it so important that those particular people had to have lived (at least for a short while) to make the lies credible?
Post your speculation below, and tune in here tomorrow to discuss further!

I am certainly hoping for Sun and I would like to think Jin would be with her…. But I agree, what about Desmond saying Claire got on a helicopter, unless she does meet her maker somehow after getting on the helicopter.
I dunno. I’ve thought all along that Aaron was one of the 6. Seems they wouldn’t have attached a number to the group’s title if there were actually 7. Though on the other hand, it could explain the mystery of the 6 of spades card on the painting in Aaron’s room with the number 7 on it instead of 6.
I’m hoping for Sun for the baby’s sake.
Would be a little frustrating, though diabolically cool if one of the ‘sock puppets’ was in the O6. Like Frogurt or Steve or someone.
Long winded way detour to saying I think it’ll be Sun and Bernard.
Holy cow, Sean, you have eagle eyes! I totally missed the 6/7 of spades reference in Aaron’s room.
Personally, I don’t think Aaron is one of the group—mainly because I don’t think the writers would “waste” the opportunity to explore an off-island character down the road. I think each of the Sixers made a devil’s deal to get home, and they’ll be getting goofy with the reasons why in the next two seasons. Aaron’s simply too young to do that with him; he’s just along for the ride.
As for the “sock puppet” theory, I love it—even though I think it’s unlikely. That said, I do have a bit of info on tonight’s episode, which may or may not be a O6 clue: Your pal Bernard definitely shows up.
Tune in here tomorrow to go over every detail!
I think there’s only one spot open, even more now after last night’s episode. I don’t think Jin got off the island. If you looked at the tombstone, his date of death was 9/22/04, the day the plane crashed…
Bardonia,
I noticed his date of death too. Jin was a flashback and Sun was a flashfoward. OMG I cried like a baby at the cemetary.
