In a video interview with TVGuide.com’s Matt Mitovich, our boy Skeet Ulrich talks about tomorrow’s episode, “Sedition” and Jericho’s uncertain future.
While he doesn’t get too specific, he does share this, about the fallout for Jake Green because of Goetz’s murder:
There are dire ramifications, and in this episode — I don’t want to give any of it away — you see what Beck has in store for him and his will, really, to stick to his own and to make sure his town doesn’t suffer any more.
Skeet also talks about the season vs series finale: One major scene was changed to differentiate between the two, but several other scenes also had minor tweaks to properly lead up to the big change.
But, really, it’s not as if you need an excuse to watch a video of Skeet (ahem, Erika).
Then check out this article from The Hollywood Reporter, dissecting whether CBS’ decision to give Jericho a second chance has paid off. Results are mixed, as traditional Nielsen ratings are low, but online it’s done quite well: “The premiere was streamed about 700,000 times on CBS.com, and “Jericho” is one of the most downloaded shows on iTunes,” the paper reported.
Interesting reading. Love this quote from Carol Barbee:”We’d have come back if they gave us $1.95 and three days to shoot.”
And the final two paragraphs are definite food for thought — for any network, not just CBS:
So what’s the lesson to learn from “Jericho?” That networks should always base programming decisions strictly on the ratings? With media distribution systems reaching young viewers in new ways, such a strict stance seems foolish. Not to mention creatively depressing. At its peak, “Jericho” infused its drama with likable characters caught in impossible moral dilemmas. Maybe the show’s lesson is that, sometimes, there’s just no right answer.

Thanks Amy that was awesome. When will they know if Jericho gets a 3rd season? I would have to assume they would know soon if they shot 2 endings.
They just cant let this show go.
Hi Charlene! They’ve got to decide whether Jericho gets a third season any minute now, as there’s only one more episode after tonight’s. The finale has two endings, one’s a season finale, one’s a series finale, and there’s some tweaking they have to do to get the episode ready, depending on which ending they have to use.
I don’t know if CBS is waiting for final numbers from tonight’s episodes, or taking into consideration the online viewing and DVR viewing. I honestly have no idea what CBS is waiting for.
The only good news is that the waiting will be over soon and CBS is going to have to decide one way or the other and we’ll be out of this waiting game.
