Mayor Mike to drop in at 30 Rock, Tracy backs Barack, and 'Baby Mama' launches Tribeca

Tina Fey must’ve caught the political bug from her recent stint hosting SNL because she’s bringing some of the political limelight to 30 Rock.

bloomberg.jpgNew York Mayor Mike Bloomberg is slated to make a guest appearance when the show returns next month.

He’ll play himself, a role he’s been perfecting for years, in the April 10 post-strike “premiere”. At least that’s what Dean Winters told NJ.com Monday.

It looks like Winters is making a return appearance also, as Dennis the Liz Lemon-dating, Chris Hansen-dodging Beeper King. Winters has been keeping busy proving he can do serious and funny—proving it to me at least, despite limited screen time—as Sarah Connor’s spurned fiance on Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The episode is called “Subway Hero”, which has a ripped-from-the-headlines feel to it.

Speaking of political turns, Tracy Morgan rebutted Fey’s assertion on SNL last month that “b@#&! is the new black”. Guess Morgan’s an Obamaniac based on this clip, courtesy of NBC.com. The relevant comments come at the 3:00 mark.

And speaking of New York City—well, I did mention the mayor—Fey’s and her former SNL cohort Amy Poehler’s upcoming feature film “Baby Mama” will make its world premiere at, and kick off, the Tribeca Film Festival next month.

nup_116138_0012.JPGFey stars as a successful but childless-at-37 businesswoman who’s determined to have a kid on her own. Naturally, she has no shot of bearing one herself, so she turns to a South Philly working girl (played by Poehler) to be her surrogate.

The flick was filmed mainly in Gotham and was written by ex-SNL scribe Michael McCullers. Greg Kinnear, Maura Tierney and Sigourney Weaver also star.

The festival runs from April 23-May 4. Tickets to screenings are $8 and $15. A few will run with panel discussions for $25. Go to tribecafilmfestival.org for info.Robert De Niro co-founded the festival after the 9/11 attacks to spur economic and cultural revitalization downtown.
