"Grey's" April Return

The word is out. The double issue of “TV Guide” arrived in my mailbox yesterday, spilling the beans on what will happen next on shows that had been crippled by the writers’ strike. The next new “Grey’s” debuts April 24, says “TVG,” and sparks will fly.
Creator Shonda Rhimes explains that, in a nod to the strike, the storyline will have jumped ahead six weeks. “Old relationships will become new again, some people you thought would never get together will, and there will be some interesting outside influences,” Rhimes says. Also, spoiled lothario McSteamy will get all bent out of shape when he doesn’t “get his way” with Dr. Hahn, and the end result will surprise us.
Getting back to the (snore…) Meredith and Derek drama, she’s going to get her act together, which is hard to believe, and the couple will come to a mutually satisfying place in their relationship. And speaking of Der’s lovers, Addison (Kate Walsh, whose schedule has been freed up because “Private Practice” won’t be back until the fall) will swoop back into Seattle Grace to, as Rhimes says, “perform surgeries that only she can do.” Say what? She’s now a world-class surgeon?
F.Y.I.: While cruising around the Internet this morning, I came upon a site that showed photos of 38 female celebs without makeup next to phtos of them all glammed up. Katherine “Izzie” Heigl’s before and after pix were particularly striking. On the first photos, her face was bare, her hair was all scraggly and her dark roots were totally poking out of her scalp. Yikes! Comparing that one to the second one was like night and day. Just goes to show you how much “show” there is in show business.”
