‘Mother,’ may we have more Britney?

Britney Spears might be returning to “How I Met Your Mother,” after her guest stint helped the CBS comedy snag its highest ratings ever.
TV Guide is reporting that the show is in talks with Brit-Brit to reprise her teensy-weensy role as Ted’s receptionist stalker in at least one more episode.
A source tells Michael Ausiello:
It all depends on her availability.
Right. Because Britney—whose schedule doesn’t seem to include much more than shopping sprees and dodging paparazzi—is just SOOO busy these days.
I had no problem with the Brit-ster appearing once: In fact, I was pleased that the troubled pop star seemed to be getting her career back on track. (And it was nice to see her on TV looking like she’d taken a bath sometime in the last month or so.)
While I wasn’t anywhere near as thrilled with her “Mother” performance as some folks, she wasn’t TERRIBLE. But appearing twice? No good can come of that.
“Mother” now just seems desperate, and critics aren’t going to be that charitable to Britney again.
If she does return to the show, however, Britney might want to snag some acting tips from her little sis, “Zoey 101” star Jamie Lynn, who’s far more natural on screen.
Then again, Jamie Lynn might be a little too busy to serve as an acting coach.
After all, she’s one overscheduled 16-year-old: She’s got a baby on the way, a wedding to plan and parties to throw.
