If you’re someone who prefers to watch “Lost” from a pure, rumor-free perspective, this post isn’t for you.
So, if you dare, read on: And I’ll start by giving the most innocuous tidbit first.
Which, of course, comes straight from the network: ABC posted the title of the April 24 episode yesterday on its press site.
When the show returns in its new, post-”Grey’s Anatomy” timeslot of 10 p.m., we’ll be watching Episode 9, which is titled:
“The Shape of Things to Come.”
Here’s ABC’s synopsis:
Locke’s camp comes under attack, and Jack tries to discover the identity of a body that has washed ashore
Discuss amongst yourselves as to who the dead person might be, but here’s a list of characters who are sure to turn up—alive or not.
Miles, Daniel, Charlotte, Bernard, Alex, Charles Widmore, Keamy (the gun-happy freighter dude) and that creepy freighter doctor.

BEN AND SUN IN LONDON TOWN: Dark UFO and Doc Artz report that Michael Emerson and Yunjin Kim were recently in London to shoot some scenes. But as we all know, “Lost” shoots in Hawaii, even if a scene is set in another country. So why go all the way to England? Doc Artz notes the rumor du jour: That the script called for Alan Dale, who plays Charles Widmore, to report for duty. However, he’s currently starring in the West End version of “Spamalot” and couldn’t travel, so the show had to come to him. Does this mean that we’ll learn who set up the fake crash wreckage, Ben or Widmore? Or are they in cahoots?
AN OTHER MAKES A COMEBACK: Meanwhile back in the Aloha State, Ryan at Hawaiiweblog.com spotted the show filming a scene set at a 1950s hospital that included—GASP!—Nestor Carbonell, a.k.a. the ageless Richard Alpert. Now, “Lost” fans last saw Richard at the end of last season when Ben asked him to take the Others to the Temple. And we last saw Nestor on that god-awful CBS drama, “Cane,” which looks like it’s being canceled. But—WHEE!—that means Nestor was free to come back to the island. And here’s the freaky-deaky part: Richard may have been present at Locke’s birth! Ryan says the scene revolved around a maternity ward and a character named Emily, which just happens to be the name of Locke’s mom. But don’t forget that Ben’s mother was an Emily, too. Sure, we know Ben’s mom died in Portland giving birth to him, and she wasn’t in a hospital, so this likely isn’t her. But does all this imply a deeper Locke-Richard-Ben connection?
CALLING ALL AUSTRALIANS: Dark UFO also got the scoop about a casting call that went out recently for the finale. It asks for at least two actors who are Australian or can do an “impeccable” Aussie accent. “Donna” is a 40ish blonde who has to deliver emotional news. “Millbanks” is middle-aged, rugged and smart. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that they might be related somehow to Claire.
And speaking of Claire and the finale, how about that “spectacular” kiss that producer Damon Lindelof keeps talking about?
Well, E!’s TV diva, Kristin, got another hint out of ol’ Lindy. He told her this:
It will happen between a boy and a girl. But it doesn’t happen on the island.
Whoa! Kristin’s already guessing that the kiss might be between Claire and Aaron, and I tend to agree.
Or maybe Sun and Jin?
Penny and Desmond?
And WHERE OH WHERE would it take place, if not on Mystery Island?
ACK! Only 16 more days until “Lost” is back with its five-episode sprint to the season’s finish line!
