Pardon my alliteration, and for stealing TVGuide.com’s oh-so-obvious, Ah-nuld-inspired headline.
But the mag’s Michael Ausiello is reporting Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been picked up for a second season.

He doesn’t offer much detail, but Ausiello cites “multiple sources.” The network isn’t talking, not officially anyway.
This is great news for fans of the fledgling series, which launched in January and wrapped a strike-shortened season in early March. They laid solid groundwork in the meantime for some interesting character exploration, between the determined agent Ellison (Richard T. Jones), the shaky but game John Connor (Thomas Dekker), the intriguing (and well-acted by Brian Austin Greene) Derek Reese and the ever-mesmerizing and deadpan Cameron (Summer Glau).
I’ll look for improvement from Lena Heady in the title role. My beef isn’t so much with her performance but with uneven scripts that fail to strike a convincing balance between hardcore resistance fighter and loving mother. I’ll also look for more consistency in the portrayal of Summer Glau’s “good” terminator. Can she convincingly mimick human emotion or is she a toaster with pretty eyes?
I expect the writing team to craft an overarching plot for next season and seasons beyond, a la Heroes, so that we’re not fed episode after episode of Cromartie, the evil terminator, chasing the Connors, who narrowly escape with the aid of the Glaubot.
My hopes are high. Should be a fun ride.
