Praise be to the four-toed statue: Only 1 day left before the “Lost” adventure begins again!
Then we start the countdown to May 29, when Season 4 makes what I’m sure will be a spectacular two-hour conclusion.
On that note, today’s audio scoop from executive producers Damon Lindeof and Carlton Cuse focus on the season finale … and beyond.
Here’s how Damon explained why they asked ABC for an extra hour for the finale:
You can expect lots of action, especially between Jack and Locke. They divided the survivors into two camps when the season began, and Carlton explains why this showdown’s been a long time coming:
Damon also explained that the finale will have a game-changing scenario, much like last year’s flash-forward Jack and Kate scene. Click below to hear him talk about how the flashes—either back or forward—might become irrelevant:
And click through to hear both producers talk (a little) about the code name for the big season finale twist!
The Darlton duo are known for giving code words to the twists that have come to mark a “Lost” season finale. This year, the code word is “Frozen Donkey Wheel.”
Yup, you read that right. Here’s more on that:
The producers also expressed disappointment that the writers’ strike prevented them from delving into the back stories of the Freighter Four as planned.
But they’re still loving actors Jeff Fahey (Frank), Rebecca Mader (Charlotte), Jeremy Davies (Daniel) and Ken Leung (Miles)—and we’ll be seeing more of them next season.
Here’s Carlton on what Fahey was doing before they lured him to Mystery Island:
Interesting, right? Who knew the Lawnmower Man was such an amazing humanitarian!
And last up, Darlton says that they’ve known exactly how “Lost” is going to end eventually—even before ABC announced that the sixth season, set to air in 2010, will be its last:
That’s all for now! Tune in tomorrow for our Thursday “Lost” debate, and check back Friday (of course!) for my recap!
