Odds and ends from The Office hiatus

…I was waiting to read the OfficeTally Writers Q&A with “Goodbye, Toby” co-writer Jen Celotta. Here’s just a tiny sample of ones that jumped out at me, but the best part about the rest is that it’s way more than just Celotta who chimes in.

jobfair-pam.jpgQ. If Jan wanted to have a good shot with her sperm-bank child and that’s why she didn’t “pick” Michael’s sperm, why did she invite him to Lamaze class with her? | Gracie
Jen: I think Jan is a complicated woman. While she doesn’t think of Michael as the ideal genetic father for her child, she cares about Michael and she’s drawn to his sweetness.

Q. I was confused by Pam’s last talking head. Did she really expect Jim to propose following Andy’s spectacle? | Brooke
Jen: I think she was just really hoping for a proposal that night and was bummed that it didn’t happen.

So Rainn Wilson is in a sequel I’ll probably never see. I doubt it’ll be the career “transformation” he needs after My Super Ex-Girlfriend. (What was that about?) He will get to work with John Turturro, which may be worth it in itself.

This article details what the Dunder Mifflin-ites and 30 Rockers are doing with their time off. According to Jenna Fischer’s blog, shooting resumes after an eight-week layoff.

Tina Fey, Jonah Hill are shooting Ricky Gervais’s This Side of Truth. Alec Baldwin is in My Sister’s Keeper with Cameron Diaz, Joan Cusack and Abigail Breslin. Tracy Morgan is in Nailed, the future of which is unclear.

And John Krasinski joins Maya Rudolph, Maggie Gyllenhaal on that Sam Mendes flick shooting in nearby Stamford, Conn. Don’t you love it when Jim goes to Stamford?…Michael Ausiello, never a big Office fan, gave the season finale an A+ (but not an A++) and called it the best episode of the season. Of cousre, that may not count since he announced a couple days ago he’s leaving TVGuide for EW.

emmy-buttons1.jpg…You can get a Free Emmy Campaign Button for the NBC property of your choice. At least I think you can. I had a 30 Rock button sent home and an Office button sent to my workplace, and neither has arrived yet. I think they’re on to me.

…Oh, and Ryan will definitely be back next season, if you believe B.J. Novak. (Well, do you punk? Sorry, Dirty Harry digression.) Here’s what he had to say…

…A new blog from Creed is up at Creed Thoughts. It’s a little ditty going out to all the diminutive Ukrainian ladies in the audience. You know who you are.
