Summer series, week 2
-
- June
- 7
OK, last week we looked at the first new shows of the summer season, premiering three weeks before the calendar says summer officially begins.
The summer season continues rolling out new shows this week, starting tomorrow, and we bring you a look at what’s new and when it’s on, for the week of June 8, again, thanks to USAToday.com, though any comments not in quotes are mine:
Sunday
When We Left Earth, 9 p.m., Discovery. Six episodes, three Sundays. “With previously unreleased footage of the Space Age drawn from NASA archives, paired with intimate interviews and narrated by actor Gary Sinise.” I think I’ll be DVR-ing this one.
Design Star, 9 p.m., HGTV. Think of it as America’s Next Top Model for the interior designer set.
Army Wives, 10 p.m., Lifetime. Kim Delaney, Catherine Bell play spouses of soldiers on an Army base.
Ice Road Truckers, 10 p.m., History. I’ve heard good things about this reality show about the guys who drive supplies to remote towns in the Arctic Circle on a road that the rest of the year is a river, not solid ground.
Law & Order: CI, 9 p.m., USA. So some of those ubiquitous episodes of L&O on about seven zillion cable channels will be new ones.
Monday
Masters of Dance, 8 p.m., TLC. Two ways this dance show differs from all the other dance competitions: Joey Lawrence hosts and the tune changes middance.
Nashville Star, 9 p.m., NBC. Season 6 moves from USA to the mother ship, NBC. Billy Ray Cyrus hosts.
Wednesday
Celebrity Circus, 9 p.m., NBC. An update of that old chestnut, Circus of the Stars (c’mon, if you’re in your 30s, you watched it every freakin’ year when it was on, admit it). But it’s a competition in the vein of Dancing with the Stars, as celebrities are paired with circus professionals and can be voted off each week.
Thursday
The Road Hammers, 8:30 p.m., GAC. “Canadian country stars (Jason McCoy, Clayton Bellamy, Chris Byrne and Corbett Frasz) try to make it in the U.S. of A.” Really? Um, really?
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, 9 p.m. (subsequently moves to its regular timeslot of 10 p.m.), Bravo. I didn’t watch this before her whole Emmy dustup. I don’t plan to start now.
The Bill Engvall Show, 9 p.m., TBS. Blue-collar family, sitcom, laugh track.
My Boys, 9:30 p.m., TBS. Sitcom in which a female sportswriter hangs out with her buddies, most of whom are men.
Friday
Rate My Space, 10 p.m. (subsequently moves to 9 p.m. Thursdays), HGTV. Interior “designer Angelo Surmelis helps homeowners improve low-rated rooms.”

Hmm? I read blogs on a similar topic, but i never visited your blog. I have added it to my favorites and i?ll be your constant reader.
