In Plain Sight: Hoosier Daddy

Tonight brings us the second episode of a promising new series, In Plain Sight, on USA.
I haven’t re-watched the episode, but it’s still grown on me over the course of the week. I found myself recounting a couple of lines on the show, including the great insult Mary slung at her personal-trainer boyfriend after telling him to go do some ab crunches.
“Is that all you think I do?” he asks, hurt. (or something along those lines)
“No,” she spits back. “I think sometimes you work on your lats.”
Burn, baby, burn.
Look, it’s not brilliant writing or anything, but it’s amusing and well-delivered. Let’s see if they can keep it up. I mean, exactly how many folks in witness protection can actually be sent to Albuquerque, N.M., anyhow? (And I’m asking this as someone who found out after the fact that Sammy the Bull’s suburban Phoenix home was a mere two or three blocks from our house there; we lived within walking distance of him for a year or so. We’d wondered why not one, but two great pizza-by-the-slice places had suddenly opened up in the neighborhood. True story.)
Whatever the case, it’s a good diversion until Burn Notice returns on July 10. I’d love to see what Molly and Michael would do if they came up against one another. Probably bicker like crazy and then have sex.
Anyhow, here’s the official description of tonight’s ep:
Leo Billups witnessed a drug-related murder that involved the Cruz family, one of the most powerful drug families in the country. It’s a common enough story in WITSEC. What sets this one apart is that the person he saw murdered was his mother… and Leo is 8 years old.Because his father is one of the people Leo is testifying against, Mary places him in the care of another WITSEC family. Just when it seems like everything’s going to work out perfectly, Leo’s father sues for custody, claiming the Federal government had no right to take Leo in the first place.
Now, Mary must find a way to keep Leo away from his father and safe from the Cruz family.
It’s on at 10 p.m.
