"Grey's" Heigl Has A Hissy

Izzie on “Grey’s Anatomy” has rejected consideration for an Emmy nom this TV year, reasoning, “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination, and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the Academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention. In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.”
Puh-LEEZE! It looks like sassy (read: brass cajones-ed) Katherine Heigl, who won an Emmy for the 2006-07 season, is getting too big for her britches (or, scrubs). Getting down to brass tacks, the bleached blond with the crooked teeth has a bee in her bonnett because she thinks the “Grey’s” writers didn’t give her enough scenes or strong storylines in the 2007-08 season.
Boo hoo, Katie, but remember one thing: You’re in an EMSEMBLE cast. The show does not revolve around you. You’re Katherine Heigl, not Katharine Hepburn, and you’re not a real brain surgeon, you just play one on TV.
Heigl’s knickers are in a twist probably because her movie “Knocked Up” was a huge success (the underperformance of “27 Dresses” doesn’t count?), and she thinks that her thespian skills rival those of Meryl Streep. Heigl’s “Grey’s” colleague Patrick Dempsey’s recent big-screen flicks, “Enchanted” and “Made of Honor,” did well at the box office, and you don’t see him getting all snippy. AND he starred in two of my fave movies from the 1980s, “In the Mood” and “Can’t Buy Me Love.” As for Heigl? The loathesome “My Father, the Hero” (1994). And as much as I was a big fan of “Roswell” (on The WB and then UPN), she didn’t exactly stand out on that show either.
I could go on about Heigl’s spoiled-brat behavior; instead I will mention two names that might jiggle some memories of what happens when the egos of TV actors on hit shows get way too big: Shelley Long and McLean Stevenson.

"the bleached blond with the crooked teeth has a bee in her bonnett"
So, Katherine Heigl's attempt to show integrity results in a sexist attack? Perhaps she recognizes that she's "in an EMSEMBLE cast. The show does not revolve around" her, and that's why she withdrew her name.
Really, your whining about how spoiled she is sounds like jealousy more than anything else.
Right on, Jenny! You go, girl!
