Like some Office scoop? Well I found some.
E!Online’s Kristin dishes the following:
- Playing the part of the Pratt Institute, where Pam was accepted into the graphic design program in the finale, will be played by the University of Southern California. Scoop quality : 3 out of 10.
- Pam’s art professors are a bearded dude and a lady hipster. Scoop quality 6 out of 10.
- “Pam gets lost and sits in on the wrong class, but eventually she finds her way… (Ooh, metaphor!)” Scoop quality: 6 out of 10.
Now, did she mean all season long? Probably not, since the cast probably hasn’t had scripts long enough for her to know the deal and to put it out there at this point.
And could it be a red herring? Like, could she be misleading the diehard fans who hang on every spoiler that leaks out? I doubt that, only because why would she tease fans with a bit of info that is basically the last thing any fans want to hear. Season 3 saw a split-location story arc really hurt the show’s vibe.
And then there are these tidbits from EW’s Michael Ausiello (after the jump)…
…Mad Men’s Rich Sommer is guest starring in the Sept. 25 season premiere. Well, what you don’t know is that if it weren’t for the writers strike, it probably never would have happened! Sommer says the idea for his Office visit first came up when he met producer/star Mindy Kaling last winter on the picket line…Sommer insists he’s been “sworn to secrecy” about the specifics of his guest stint, although he does admit that he’s playing a “very different character” from Harry Crane, the 1960s ad exec he portrays on Mad Men.…Based on what I’m hearing about the premiere, it’s either going to go down as the funniest Office episode ever or NBC’s most blatant piece of cross-promotion yet. Or some combination of both.
It’s extremely, disgustingly off-color—hence, no link—but it is also hilarious. He can deliver any line and make it drip with charm. There’s also a funny companion bit by Paul Rudd with his own take on the screensaver thing. It, too, is not safe for work. Or for coworkers.

Sommer’s guest appearance on “The Office” reminds me of “The Simpsons” episode featuring the lead character from “The Critic.” It was both hilarious and brilliant cross-promotion, despite the fact that “Simpsons” creator Matt Groening wanted nothing to do with that episode, to the point that he even yanked his name from the credits for that ep:
